This page explains what happens to your information when you use WordUntangle. The short version: the unscrambling and scrambling tools run entirely in your browser, we don't collect the words or letters you type, and the only outside data collection on this site comes from advertising.
We do not require an account, and we do not store, log, or transmit the letters or words you type into the Unscrambler or Scrambler tools. All matching happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. There is no backend server that receives or processes your searches.
To build its word list, WordUntangle loads a public dictionary file from a third-party content delivery network (jsDelivr) when the page opens. This is a standard file request — like loading an image or a font — and it only exposes the same basic technical information any web request does (such as your IP address and browser type). No search terms or letters are included in that request.
WordUntangle is supported by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance. We don't control what Google's advertising cookies collect directly, but you can:
Some language or preference settings on this site may be remembered in your browser's local storage so the page loads the way you last left it. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
WordUntangle is a general-audience word puzzle tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
